Curtis Stout, Founder & Executive Director
Curtis is married to his best friend and shares a passion for serving and traveling with her. He is passionate about helping people find their role in God's story. Curtis, with the help of others, started Project 117 for the left behind children in Haiti because education is a basic human right and everyone deserves the opportunity to better themselves in order to discover God's purpose for their life.

Sarah Smith, Development Assistant
Sarah is so excited to join Project 117 in bringing hope through education to the Haitian people. She is passionate about telling stories and equipping others to discover and tell their own. She is excited to use her God-given skills and love of storytelling to advance the cause of Project 117 and, ultimately, the Kingdom here on earth!

Irene Rolland, Chair Irene has been married to her best friend since 1997. Her passion, which she shares closely with her husband, is helping the hopeless. Irene recognizes our unlimited access to educational opportunities in the United States and strives to teach her children to love those who suffer, to not just feel compassion, but to act compassionately. Irene leverages her organizational and leadership skills to further Project 117's cause!

Tyler Radcliff Tyler loves his wife, friends, dogs, and church deeply. He is passionate about using what God has given him (talents and resources) to serve His people. Tyler went to Haiti for the first time in 2008. That trip reshaped his perspective on the idea of need. Tyler is a gifted craftsman with incredible trade experience and enjoys leveraging his knowledge and skills to advance 117's movement!

Scott Garner, Treasurer Scott has been married to his wife Paula for 23 years and has 2 children. A 28 year veteran of the steel industry, Scott enjoys the challenges of the business world, living out the principles that his Christian world view calls him too. God has blessed his family with the opportunity to travel to multiple countries, exposing them to what God is doing around the world, and expanding their vision for Missions both local and global. Passionate about serving, Scott leverages his experiences to assist Project 117 as it pursues the vision God has given it to; “Learn to do right! Seek justice, encourage the oppressed. Defend the cause of the fatherless, plead the case of the widow.”

Scott has been married to his wife Paula for 23 years and has 2 children. Evan Barnhart Evan has been married to his wife, Alicia, for 6 years. They have one daughter, Andersyn Rue. Evan has been in working in education for 8 years and is currently the director of the international student program at Redwood Christian Schools in the San Francisco Bay Area in California. He also has three years of experience working in China as a principal and teacher. Besides spending time with his family, Evan enjoys international travel, running long distances, and reading. Evan traveled to Haiti for the first time in May of 2016 and leverages his passion for social justice and experience in education to advance our cause!

Evan Barnhart
Evan has been married to his wife, Alicia, for 6 years. They have one daughter, Andersyn Rue. Jeffrey Bennett, Secretary Jeff began work at an early age with missions in Mexico, Dominican Republic, and Honduras. He traveled to Haiti for the first time in 2008. Each trip has brought a deepening love and passion for serving in developing nations by sharing God’s love through treating dental needs. Jeff aspires to provide dental treatment to the area surrounding Project 117's school and uses his broad range of board experiences to bring stability and leadership to our team!

Doug Bray Doug is the founder and owner of Select Equipment, a family-operated company that sells and reconditions electrical components. He enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. Doug is passionate about being the church in his community and world through serving in a variety of different ways. Doug is an innovator and creative thinker who leverages his business and trade experiences to further 117's cause!

Jean Merrell Jean loves people, volunteering wherever God needs her, and traveling to far away places. She has been fortunate to partner in ministry with people in Indiana, Mexico, Jamaica and Northern Ireland. Jean loves seeing God use our humble abilities to move mountains. She is married to her "wonderful" husband Ted, and is a mom to Katie, Blake, Brayden, Karson & Andrew and grandma to Addy. Jean leverages her ministry experience, time, and love for people to advance our cause!

Julie Smith Julie had the opportunity to experience our work firsthand in Haiti during the 2016 medical trip.  It was "Love at First Sight" with the Haitian people and the mission of Project 117. Julie has been in the medical field for 34 years and has a passion for helping others. She has been married to her husband Kevin for 30 years and has two children, Kyle and Sarah, all of whom have been on mission trips to Haiti. Julie is leveraging her skills to develop and enhance the medical programs of 117.

HAITIaN STAFf

Gregory, our Principal, leads our Haitian staff of twenty in the day-to-day operations of our justice-seeking school. We have six teachers, two cooks, a secretary, a student caregiver, three classroom assistants, three security guards, two gatekeepers, and a groundskeeper on our team. This amazing team is a true blessing because of the way they love Jesus and serve His children.

Steve & Nancy Bayer, 1:17 Curriculum Advocates Our 1:17 Curriculum team resources our teachers with weekly art, drama, and storytelling activities that reinforce a weekly focus story from the Jesus Storybook Bible. Erin Foster, 1:17 Curriculum Advocate Erin advocates for our students monthly by developing storytelling and coaching resources for our teachers. She writes discussion guides, develops character cues, and creates drama skits that pair with our weekly Bible story and monthly virtue.

Britanny Reef-Stout, Student Care Advocate Our student care team advocates for our students in the classroom by ensuring that NO student is left behind.
